The course consists of instructor-led classroom sessions and hands-on riding. Make sure you arrive at the right time, as tardy arrivals could throw off the class' schedule.

The MSF Basic Rider Course is the perfect course for anyone who wishes to learn to ride a motorcycle or scooter. The class offers classroom instruction and actual motorcycle/scooter operator training in a controlled off-street setting. The BRC is designed for beginner riders and can help avoid MVC's road test. It also teaches street tactics, including maximum brake effectiveness and maneuvering in tight spots and passing, and avoiding dangers.

The eCourse includes interactive lessons, video clips and illustrations to help you experience the fundamentals of motorcycling. Discounts on insurance may be offered to you upon successful completion of the course.

The ePackage 1 must be completed in 30 days from the beginning date of your BRC course to earn a certificate and participate in the riding skill evaluation. If the eCourse is not completed and the course is not completed, no refund will be provided. For participation in the hands-on BRC participants must possess an VALID driver's license.

The CLASS program, a two-day rider-training class, allows you to improve your riding skills on a street-legal motorbike or scooter that is provided by the school. This class is taught by MSF certified instructors. The focus is on building your confidence as well as your knowledge of the motorcycle/scooter's operating systems. The class includes classes as well as riding exercises, and a riding-skill evaluation.

The course is based on the teachings of 3 time AMA Superbike Champion Reg Pridmore and his hand selected team of instructors. Their ideas have been refined over the course of 50 years of racing, riding and teaching. These concepts are presented in a straightforward manner to make them simple to grasp and apply. The result is a better rider who is more confident, competent and secure.

Practice Range

You'll spend a significant portion of your training on a practice field in which you can test and refine your riding abilities. The site is usually closed to traffic so you can practice in a safe environment. Your RiderCoach will guide you through the basics of controlling of your vehicle and the steps to follow before taking you out on the range. At the end of every session on the range, your RiderCoach will score you on five skill evaluation exercises that focus on limited-space maneuvers, braking and cornering. If you are able to get through the riding-skills evaluation, you will receive a BRC Road Test Waiver Completion Card (a license waiver).

You should bring your motorcycle safety equipment to class. Your RiderCoach can provide helmets to students who don't already have one. But be sure to wear a DOT approved helmet. Wear long pants made of non-flare material, full-finger gloves, ankle-high boots or shoes and eye protection.

In many states, a motorcycle safety course is required to obtain an endorsement. Find out from your local DMV if the course or recommendation is required. Join a Motorcycle Safety Foundation approved program. This could be used to avoid the road test required by the DMV.

The MSF Basic RiderCourse can be completed in a variety of locations across the country. It combines about 5 hours of classroom instruction with 10 hours on the bike and is the fastest path to a motorcycle permit and also a possible insurance discount.

Feedback from the Instructor

"The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and professional. They truly take care of their students and that is evident. They will teach you the fundamentals you should know about riding a motorcycle. This class is highly recommended for every motorcyclist, no matter what age or previous experience.

The classroom instruction was informative and thought-provoking. The riding instruction was a combination of theory and practice, but the main highlight was the instructor feedback. They didn't just say "OK", but they explained what you did wrong. For example, "You looked down at the handlebars", "You gave it too much gas", "Your wrists are bent", "You shifted too early", or "You weren’t pushing down on your foot peg". Then they explained to you how to repair it.

testy na prawo jazdy a1  of coaching is what you can expect in a high-quality training course and is what sets this class from many other courses. Some riders may consider this to be unfair, but I think it is necessary to give students the best chance of passing the test and riding safely.

I've taken other courses in the past, and there was no personal feedback from the instructor. If a student isn't posing a clear danger or hindering the progress of others within the group there's no reason instructors should be the sole decision-maker on whether or not the student is able to pass the course.

In my view, any motorcycle school that doesn't provide individualized coaching is missing an essential element of its curriculum. It isn't worthy of the high marks it gets in student reviews. Beginning with the Basic RiderCourse then continuing with private lessons is the most effective way to get up and going quickly and safely. That way you can learn from a professional, avoid bad habits, and begin your journey with confidence and skills that will serve you for years of riding pleasure. The majority of states do not require written and riding license endorsement tests for students who have completed a specialized RiderCourse, and some insurance companies offer discounts to those who successfully complete the course.

Final Exam

In the second half of your class you will learn about road skills such as stopping, accelerating, changing gears turning, swerving, and braking. This part of the training is completed when you pass the riding skill test. This portion of the course is what will determine if you will receive your motorcycle license road test waiver card. The test will cover the techniques that the DMV driver examiner will be looking for during your license test. It's okay if it doesn't pass the exam. You just need to work hard to pass the next time and keep up the good work.

If you pass the test the instructor will give you a certificate which can be used to get a reduction in insurance for motorcycles. You will also be a licensed motorcycle rider and will be able to legally operate your motorcycle on the streets.

The MSF 3-wheel BRC is a research-based, action-oriented fundamental curriculum designed to teach new 3-wheel motorcyclists of all ages the physical and mental skills required for safe riding on the streets.
